from Food Truck Regulations - April 11, 2013
AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) — Food trucks are popping up all over the Pioneer Valley.
The town of Amherst is seeing more than in past years.
“It’s really nice, it just makes sense, it’s accessible you know, you don’t have the daunting feeling of the restaurant neither do you have the price tag of the restaurant,” said Hassan Syed, Amherst.
This week the Amherst Select Board updated their lunch cart rules.
Town Health Department Director Julie Federman says each truck must apply, pay a fee and be certified, in addition to getting a permit by the Select Board.
“So the safety of the food is guaranteed there as with all our establishments,” said Federman.
NO PESKY REGULATIONS LIKE IN NY
Single file please - Watch out for the splattering grill, deep fryer, and meat cleavers.
Plenty of room to get by single file. |
Explosive cylinders, generators, and fuel oil are all secured according to local regulations. |
The splattering oil and knives present no danger to the public as they squeeze by the Halal Cart. |
