Mr. and Mrs. Abdelaal-Lozovaya presents "Who's Afraid of Islam"



A showing and discussion of the movie "Who's Afraid of Islam".  Discussion participants include the former Imam of the Hampshire Mosque/Muslim Chaplain of Amherst College, Mohammed Abdelaal and the MHC Muslim Chaplain, Elizaveta Lozovaya.  Sponsored by UMMA: Muslim Student Organization.


The Quran is a book of Peace and Love

Mohammed earned his B.Arch. in  2001 from the Boston Architectural College with his award wining thesis project “Prayer as a Generator or Architecture in Islam,” exploring the connection between the Muslim five daily ritual prayers and architecture.


After 9/11 Mohammed's interest in Islam and its principles led him in 2004 to become a co-founder and former president of Hampshire mosque in Amherst, Massachusetts. From 2006-2010 he has been serving as the director of religious affairs and chaplain of Hampshire mosque, leading services and weekly talks on Islam for local Muslims.
